REVIEW: 'Apple Juice' (Jessie Reyez)
Jessie Reyez has proven herself to be one of the best and intriguing singer-songwriters out of Toronto.
The JUNO Award winner has been busy releasing new tracks following the success of her debut EP, Kiddo. Today she dropped “Apple Juice,” her latest single ahead of her second EP which is set to be released this fall.
And we can’t get enough.
In an intimate ballad about a one-sided fight for love, the stripped-back single is accompanied with a stringy background which leaves us focused on Reyez’s throaty vocals and personal lyrics. The track is another example of the artist’s flexibility in exposing us to new and raw emotions, reminiscent of “Figures.”
“Apple Juice” is an anthem layered with vulnerability.
Take a listen!
